Hey Reluctant Adult,
Science has it that sights, sounds and smells can evoke emotionally charged memories, so I spent the weekend thinking about how to connect with you using this. Can you tell how badly I don’t want you to forget me?
I considered making a video so you know who’s writing this, but it’s a little too early; let’s preserve the mystery. There’s also no known way to transmit smell which leaves us with sound virtually.
Music quickly unlocks a part of your brain which allows you to access memories and emotions. I just told Siri to play ‘Do me’ by P-Square, and it’s incredible how I’m immediately transported to primary school days with dance competitions; girls convinced they could whine better than Shakira and boys attempting to out dance MJ with electrifying (outrageous) break dances.
*quick dance break; it’s never too late to prove my hips don’t lie*
Honestly, the nostalgia is palpable and has a much more emotional quality- so full of colour and flavour, which leads me to some good news- our engineers say we are 70% ready to host you; look out for more information in my following newsletter. In the meantime, care to join me on the dance floor? Take my hand as I lead you through years of your favourite tracks.
Let me know if you enjoyed the playlist and what tracks I missed by mentioning us on Twitter or Instagram. Remember also to follow our pages, share this with someone who needs to be here and stay tuned.
Unleash your inner child,
T. from The Agbaya Linkup.
